In cooperation with real estate developer “Eriadas”, we have furnished a two-room apartment for the future residents of “Aitvarų namai” (“Kite House”) in Vilnius, Lazdynėliai. All design and home comfort solutions are provided by our business interior designer Rūta Gajauskaitė.
“The project is situated adjacent to a forest, influencing the interior solutions that aim to evoke a sense of home and stay in harmony with the surrounding nature.”

Our annual “Life at Home” research has revealed that of the most annoying things for people in Lithuania is the lack of storage space. Conversely, a well-organised home contributes to a better mental wellbeing for 1 in 3 Lithuanians. This is precisely why the kitchen in this apartment features some practical solutions that cannot be seen at first glance:
cabinets with internal drawers to optimize space usage,
additional countertop lighting to make cooking more convenient,
ample space for waste sorting, accommodating up to four separate bins.
“When designing a kitchen, it is crucial to consider the workflow involved in cooking. We usually begin with accessing the fridge, washing, cutting, baking, and finish with serving. The kitchen should be planned in a way that allows us to smoothly move in this sequence.”

The bed in the apartment lacks a built-in underbed storage. Thus, additional storage boxes have been added to create extra room for various items. It may seem like a small detail, but it makes a big difference pleasure in the long run, eliminating concerns about where to store seasonal items and saving time on looking for additional storage solutions.
A sliding door system between the bedroom and the wardrobe serves as a room divider, effectively separating the two spaces and ensuring privacy.
