Our kitchen taps come in a wide range of styles, but there's more to them than that. They save you money, too. Each has as a little device that mixes in air with the flow so you use less water, which is good for your wallet and the whole planet.

How to use less water – without even trying

Of all the water in the world, less than 3% is fresh. So, the careful use of it makes sense – financially and environmentally. Happily, some modern products can do the water-saving for you.

Every time you rinse salad, fill a kettle or wash dishes, you're helping with something essential—saving water. How? Thanks to the small aerator in every IKEA kitchen mixer tap that reduces water flow while maintaining pressure. We didn't invent aerators, but think they are an important example of how we can work together to save water for everyone's benefit.

Ideas and inspiration

“Home idea with IKEA”: a living room for all – big and small, two-legged and four
“Home idea with IKEA”: a living room for all – big and small, two-legged and four

This week’s heroine, Edita, shares her home with an energetic five-year-old and their pet, Zara. The heart of their home is the living room – and that’s exactly where our interior designer, Gabija, worked her magic to give it a fresh new look.

This week’s hero, Rasa, is a true powerhouse – she’s always on the move! Between hitting the gym, working hard, raising her son and whipping up delicious meals in the kitchen, she juggles it all. Most of their time is spent in a cosy 17-square-metre room, where they cook, eat, relax, read, work and do homework. For Rasa and her son, a dishwasher and the simple joy of stretching out to watch TV are absolute essentials. But can all aspects of family life really fit into one compact space? Our interior designer, Toma, has no doubt that they can!

“Home idea with IKEA”: a fresh start in the family kitchen
“Home idea with IKEA”: a fresh start in the family kitchen

This week’s heroes are Jūratė and Aleksas, parents of two sons, who bought a house with partial finishing and decided to renovate it themselves. As they are doing the renovation with their own hands, there is currently no functioning kitchen or dining area in the house. However, this space is the heart of the family home – a place not only for eating but also where a lot of time is spent together. To make it comfortable, spacious, and suited to their lifestyle, Jūratė and Aleksas turned to our interior designer, Anastasia, for help.
