In DUKTIG play kitchen, your child can cook and bake – just like the grown-up master chefs on TV. There’s a tap and sink, a hob with battery-operated diodes, and cabinets for keeping handy kitchen utensils. Adjustable legs help the kitchen to grow along with the chef. It’s all made from durable, recyclable materials and meets the strictest safety requirements in the world. And we’ve made sure to remove all dangerous chemicals – just the way you want your food.
Fibreboard is a stable and durable material made of leftover wood from the wood industry. A durable outer layer of paint or laminate is added to the board. The difference between various types of fibreboards, such as HDF and MDF, is mainly the thickness, yet also how impact-resistant they are. This determines if we will use them for bed frames, sofa frames, kitchen fronts, wardrobe doors, or something completely different.
Visit another family of our TV project "HOME IDEA with IKEA": mother Mintarė and three her kids: fifteen-year-old Rusnė and her little siblings Preila and Vakaris. Mintarė who used to work in restaurant business now spends a lot of time in her own kitchen. As her children suffer from different allergies, she prepares different meals for every one of them. Since the kitchen is one of the most important rooms in this family’s home, they decided to renew it with a helping hand of IKEA interior designer Ilona Mozgo.
Interior designer Mantvydas invites you to a living room that functions like a small apartment. Here, you will find everything in one room, including a cosy space for hobbies and relaxation, a family kitchen, a dining room, an office, and even a playground for kids.

Be our guest at the Kaunas city social service centre. Here, together with our interior designer Ūla and other IKEA co-workers, we continue to create a cosy temporary home for the families who yet don't feel safe at their own home. At the second stage of our makeovers, we have renovated three more family rooms, a space for leisure and a shared kitchen.
We want to constantly inspire you to have a better everyday life. This is why we update the first five rooms in our store's Showroom at least once a year. Most recently, our interior designer Mantvydas has renovated this living room connected to the kitchen.
We’re social creatures, but just as important as time with others, is time alone. Of course, this looks different for each person, so this family of six have created a home where everyone can enjoy time by themselves to relax and recharge in their singular way.
